How to Doodle a Frog

Step 1

drawing a frog

To doodle a frog, begin by drawing an oval shape near the top of your page. Notice how the oval shape is a little odd. It’s kind of more like a mango shape. It’s flatter on top and more rounded on the bottom. This will become our frog’s head.

Step 2

draw a frog

Let’s now draw the front legs of our frog. To doodle the legs, use a combination of curved lines, v-shapes, and arc shapes. Notice how the frog’s feet are pointing outwards. Notice also where the front legs of our frog connect to the head area.

Step 3

doodling a frog

To draw the back legs of your frog, use a combination of curved lines, straight lines, and v-shapes. Try and draw each leg with one motion of your pencil or pen. Notice how the back legs are sticking outside the body area of our frog.

Step 4

doodle a frog

Let’s now draw some facial features for our frog. For the eyes, use oval shapes. Then two flatter oval shapes for the eyebrows. For the mouth use a curved line, and for the nose draw to side arc shapes.

Step 5

how to doodle a frog

Add the finishing touches to your frog doodle by giving it some color. Frogs, of course, can come in a variety of colors. But for this example, I have chosen a standard green color. Notice, how two shades of green have been used. The back legs are a little darker than the front legs. This gives us the impression that they are towards the back of our doodle.

Step 3

doodling an experiment

Let’s now add what looks like a triangle or pyramid shape which will become the base of our flask. Notice the angle of the lines and how they are rounded on the corners.

Step 4

doodle an experiment

For this to look like an experiment, we must add some liquid and doodle some bubbles. Use a wavy line to show the level of the liquid. Then use oval shapes for the bubbles bubbling up from the surface of the liquid. Notice how some bubbles are larger and some are smaller.

How to Doodle Evidence

How to Doodle Evidence

Step 1

drawing evidence

If someone asked you to doodle EVIDENCE, what would you draw? How about a magnifying glass hovering over droplets of blood. To begin your magnifying doodle, draw a circle in the middle of your page.

Step 2

draw evidence

Now draw another larger circle around the original circle you drew in step 1. Notice how the distance between the two circles is even all the way around.

Step 3

doodling evidence

To draw the handle of your magnifying glass, use an elongated arc shape that connects to the glass portion of your magnifying glass.

Step 4

doodle evidence

Now time to draw the evidence. For the evidence, let’s draw droplets of blood. And that, of course, sounds gruesome, 🙁 so if you want you can doodle anything else. You can even turn the droplets of blood into droplets of water. Notice how the droplets that are within the area of the magnifying glass are larger than the droplets outside.

Step 5

how to doodle evidence

Add the finishing touches to your evidence doodle by giving it some color. Notice how the glass area has a slight blue tinge. This gives us the impression that there is a glass element in the magnifying glass.

How to Doodle an Engine

Step 1

drawing an engine

How would you doodle an engine? Seems pretty complicated. Let’s break it down step-by-step. It’s a little challenging to explain the first step. The idea here is to draw straight lines. Pay particular attention to the angles of the lines and the spacing between the lines. This will become the main body of our engine doodle.

Step 2

draw an engine

Next, let’s doodle the first moving and spinning part of the engine. Use straight lines and two triangle shapes here. Notice how one triangle is upright, and the other is upside-down.

Step 3

doodling an engine

Next, doodle the same shape on top of the engine. This time, however, everything is stretched out vertically rather than horizontally as we drew it in step 2.

Step 4

doodle an engine

Let’s now give our engine doodle a third-dimension. Here we will just draw four straight lines on the back of the engine. Notice the angles of the lines and the distance between the lines.

Step 5

how to doodle an engine

Add the finishing touches to your engine doodle by giving it some color. You can if you like to decorate the body of the engine a little with a name or some graffiti. 🙂
