How to Doodle Noose

How to Doodle Noose

Step 1

drawing a noose

To doodle a noose, begin by drawing an elongated oval shape. Then below that shape, draw six interconnected arc shapes. Notice how these arc shapes are of different lengths and sizes. Notice also how the middle arc shapes are wider and the arc shapes towards the ends are shorter.

Step 2

draw a noose

Next, draw a teardrop shape under the arc shapes you drew in step 1. Then inside your teardrop shape, draw another teardrop shape. Notice how the distance between the two teardrop shapes is consistently the same all the way around.

Step 3

doodling a noose

At the other end of our noose, draw an extension of the rope. To do this, use loosely drawn lines. In other words, draw lines that don’t have perfectly angled corners or that are perfectly straight.

Step 4

doodle a noose

Add another few more lines to your noose to extend the rope. Notice the angle of these lines within the example.

Step 5

how to doodle a noose

Add the finishing touches to your noose doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of a noose that you can use within your visual notes. You can use it to represent PUNISHMENT or CONSEQUENCES. What other words could a noose represent?

How to Doodle Noise

Step 1

drawing noiseIf someone asked you to visualize NOISE or SOUND, what would you draw? How about a megaphone? To begin drawing your megaphone, draw three lines. One short vertical line, and two longer lines that are angled at 45-degrees. One of the lines is angled slightly upward, while the other slightly downward.

Step 2

draw noise

We now need to give our megaphone a cone shape. To draw this cone shape, all you need to do is combine two arc shapes together in the gap between the two long lines you drew in the first step. Draw one arc shape connecting the two lines that bends toward the left, and the other arc shape the bends toward the right.

Step 3

doodling noise

Add some more details to your megaphone using a combination of arc shapes and straight lines. Notice how each of these shapes and lines are positioned within and around the megaphone’s body.

Step 4

doodle noise

To highlight the fact that there is SOUND or NOISE coming from our megaphone, let’s doodle several more arc shapes extending outward from our megaphone. Notice how the arc shape that is closest to the megaphone is the smallest. Notice also how these arc shapes get considerably longer and bigger the further out they extend from the megaphone. It’s drawn this way to show how the NOISE or SOUND expands outward.

Step 5

how to doodle noise

Add the finishing touches to your megaphone doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of NOISE or SOUND. But I’m sure we could have doodled this a different way. How many other ways can you think of to visualize noise?

Step 1

drawing newspaper

Begin your newspaper doodle by drawing a rectangle in the middle of your page. Notice how the rectangle is on a slight angle that leans up on the left side and down on the right side.

Step 2

draw newspaper

To the right of the rectangle you drew in step 1, doodle a v-shaped line. Notice the length and the angles of these lines.

Step 3

doodling newspaper

Let’s now doodle some more details on your newspaper. Use a couple more rectangular shapes on the front side of the newspaper. Notice how one of the rectangles is horizontal while the other is drawn vertically. These rectangles represent headlines or images in this doodle.

Step 4

doodle newspaper

Newspapers are comprised of text, images and headlines. To draw the text, use straight lines as shown within the example. Notice how the lines are aligned with the two rectangles we drew in the previous step.

Step 5

how to doodle newspaper

Add the finishing touches to your newspaper doodle by giving it some color. Notice also how three straight lines have been added to the top right-hand corner of our newspaper. How to Doodle Networking

Step 1

drawing networking

If someone asked you to visualize NETWORKING, what would you draw? Let’s try and keep this very simple by using straightforward icons. Begin your networking doodle by drawing an oval in the middle of your page. Make sure that the oval isn’t too large as you will be drawing additional ovals in the next step.

Step 2

draw networking

In this step, draw more ovals around the central oval. In the example, I have doodled 8 ovals. Notice how each of these oval shapes are small than the central oval shape. Notice also the spacing of each of the shapes. You, of course, don’t necessarily need to draw it exactly as shown within the example. How you spread these oval shapes is completely up to you.

Step 3

doodling networking

Within each of the oval shapes, draw an icon of a person. Use a small oval shape for the head and then a couple of arc shapes and a straight line for the body. The icons don’t necessarily need to look the same. You can, for instance, add some features to each icon to make it look more unique. You can also add gender-specific features such as hair or use a triangle for the dress.

Step 4

doodle networking

Let’s now connect the various oval shapes with straight lines. You will notice in the example how the line connections have been randomized. There are no fixed or specific rules here. Feel free to connect the icons whichever way you wish.

Step 5

how to doodle networking

Add the finishing touches to your doodle by giving it some color. Notice how the central figure is a different color. This represents the person who initiates the networking. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of NETWORKING. It shows how the central figure connects with all the figures around them. How many other ways can you think of to visualize the idea of networking?

How to Doodle Neglected

Step 1

drawing neglected

If someone asked you to visualize the word NEGLECTED, what would you draw? Hmm, this is an interesting one. How about we draw a flower in a pot that’s slowly losing its petals. It could be quite a nice representation of the word NEGLECTED. Let’s begin our doodle by drawing the pot. Use a combination of rectangles and straight lines to draw your pot. Notice the angles of the vertical lines that extend from the base of our pot.

Step 2

draw neglected

Now, let’s draw the main stem of our flower. Doodle a curved line extending from the middle of the pot all the way to the outside as shown within the example. Then at the end of the stem, draw an oval shape. Notice the angle of our curved line and how it is leaning outside the pot.

Step 3

doodling neglected

Let’s now add a few more details to our flower. Use arc-shaped lines to draw the leaves. Then use three more arc-shapes do draw the flower petals that are still hanging onto our flower. Notice in the example how the leaves are not proper arc-shapes on the bottom side. The lines here curve out then back in again. This gives us a more realistic leaf shape.

Step 4

doodle neglected

To highlight that our flower is being neglected, let’s show that the petals are falling off and withering away. Use oval and arc-shapes to draw these flower petals. Notice how I have doodled a couple of curved lines extending from our flower. This shows that the petals are peeling off our flower.

Step 5

how to doodle neglected

Add the finishing touches to your doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of something being neglected. The flower isn’t being looked after, and so it is losing its petals and withering away. 🙁 But this is, of course, just one way to visualize NEGLECTED. How many other ways can you think of?

how to doodle motivation

How to Doodle Motivation

How to Doodle Motivation

Step 1

drawing motivation

If someone asked you to visualize MOTIVATION, what would you draw? This is a tricky one, but let’s give it a go. Begin your MOTIVATION doodle by drawing a very simple icon of a person. Notice in the example that we have a head, a nose, and the upper part of a body. Very straightforward shapes were used to draw this icon. Notice also how there is a gap at the top of the head. This is relevant for the next step.

Step 2

draw motivation

Extending from that gap, draw a couple of long curved lines. Notice the angle that these lines are extending from the top of the head. Notice also how they end at a point toward the left. These lines will become our motivation stick.

Step 3

doodling motivation

On that stick, let’s tie a rope and attached to that rope is a carrot. In other words, we are doodling a carrot on a stick. Notice how I used a combination of straight lines, v-shaped lines, and arc shapes to draw this step.

Step 4

doodle motivation

Let’s now show our cartoon character reaching out for the carrot. Use elongated arc shapes to draw the fingers and thumbs. The hands don’t need to be perfect. They just need to get the message across that our cartoon character is trying to reach for the carrot on the stick.

Step 5

how to doodle motivation

Add the finishing touches to your MOTIVATION doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our carrot on a stick doodle that represents the idea of MOTIVATION. As our cartoon character tries to reach forward for the carrot, it keeps eluding them. Which is why this is an effective way to doodle the idea of MOTIVATION. But I’m sure there are other ways we could visualize MOTIVATION. What visual ideas come to mind?

How to Doodle a Milestone

How to Doodle a Milestone

Step 1

drawing a milestone

If someone asked you to visualize a milestone, what would you draw? How about a stone with a flag that symbolizes our milestone. Begin by drawing the outer edges of your rock. No strict rules here. Just draw jagged lines. Notice how the base of the stone is relatively flat, and the top is pointy.

Step 2

draw a milestone

Add some more details to your stone to make it look more like a stone. Notice in the example the various lines used to create these details. Again, no fixed rules here. You can copy the example or use your own variation of the lines.

Step 3

doodling a milestone

Let’s now stick a pole into the stone, on which we will hang our flag. Use a couple of straight lines to draw your pole. Then at the top of the pole, doodle an oval shape. Notice the length of the pole and the size of the oval shape in the example.

Step 4

doodle a milestone

Use curved lines to draw your flag. Curved lines are used in this way to show that the flag is waving in the wind. You could, of course, draw the flag using straight lines. This would look more like a v-shape. That’s fine as well. Feel free to experiment.

Step 5

how to doodle a milestone

And finally, add some color to your doodle. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of a milestone. Yes, we could have added some words to the flag or stone. For instance, we could have written the word MILE on the flag. That way, it would instantly be recognized as a milestone. However, even without the words, it certainly gets the idea across that this is a milestone. How many other ways can you think of to visualize and milestone? Or could you modify this doodle slightly and still get the same message across?
