How to Doodle an Anchor

Step 1

To doodle an anchor, begin by drawing an oval shape near the top-middle of your page. They around that oval shape doodle an open arc shape with two straight lines extending downward. Make sure that the spacing between the lines is even.

Step 2

Now doodle a rectangle shape extending from the original shape you drew in step one. Try and balance the size of the shape evenly length-wise, as shown within the example.

Step 3

Let’s now doodle the bottom part of your anchor. Use curved lines and arc shapes for this purpose. This is the trickiest part of our doodle as we are trying to draw the anchor equally on both sides.

Now use v-shapes to create arrows that are drawn on the tip of our anchor. You can, of course, change up these arrows and make them look different. Anchors can come in all different form factors.

How to Doodle a Rocket

Step 1

To doodle a rocket, begin by drawing two arc shapes in the middle of your page. Notice how the arc shapes come together at the top. Now doodle two smaller arc shapes connected together in the middle as shown within the example. This will become the main body of your rocket doodle.

Step 2

Draw two additional fins on the right and left of the rocket. Use curved lines to doodle these fins.

Give your rocket doodle some more details. Use a couple of ovals to create the window, and arc shapes on the nose of the rocket, and an elongated oval on the base of the rocket.

How to Doodle a Bird

Step 1

Begin your bird doodle by drawing the eyes and the beak in the center of your page. Use arc shapes, dots, and ovals for this purpose as shown within the example.

Use zigzag lines to draw the hair on the head and under the beak. There are no strict rules for this. You can doodle as you see it in the example, or modify it slightly within your doodle.

How to Doodle a Ship

Step 1

Begin your ship doodle by drawing conjoined arc shapes across the bottom of your page. These arc shapes will become the ocean for your doodle. Then on top of these arc shapes, doodle the hull of your ship using slightly curved lines as shown within the example.

Step 2

Doodle the body of your ship by using straight lines. Notice how the vertical lines are slightly angled towards the middle. Also, notice the positioning of each of these lines in relation to the hull of the ship.

Time now to doodle the ship’s funnel or chimney stack. For this example, we will draw two chimney stacks using straight lines.

Use ovals to doodle the windows of your ship. Then use straight lines, cloud shapes and wiggly lines to doodle the smoke coming out of the chimneys.

How to Doodle a Sheep

Step 1

Begin your sheep doodle by drawing a cloud shape in the middle of your page. Under this cloud shape, draw an elongated arc shape at a 45-degree angle. This will become the head of your sheep.

Step 2

Draw the body of your sheep by doodling another larger cloud shape. Notice how part of this cloud shape is hidden behind the head of our sheep. To draw the ears of your sheep, doodle two elongated arc shapes that attach to the side of your sheep’s head.

To draw the legs of your sheep, use straight lines and short arc shapes. Notice how the legs on the far side of our sheep are doodled higher and partially hidden behind the legs on the front part of our sheep that is facing us.

To doodle the facial features of your sheep, use circles, arc shapes, and dots. You can, of course, be creative here and doodle your sheep’s facial expression in a slightly different way. 🙂

How to Doodle a Handshake

Step 1

To doodle a handshake, begin by drawing two elongated ovals side-by-side as shown within the example. Notice how the first oval shape partially covers the second, and the second partially covers the third. With this in mind, be sure to doodle the oval shape on the left first, then progress from there. These three oval shapes will become our fingers.

Step 2

Let’s not draw the other hand. Use arc shapes and curved lines for this purpose. Please, however, notice the position of these lines in relation to the three ovals we drew in step 1 of this process. This positioning is important. Angles are also very important here when doodling a handshake.

Step 3

Use arc shapes and flowing lines to doodle complete the boundary of both hands. Pay particular attention to the placement of the thumb in this doodle Notice how it is directly opposite the far right finger.

Step 4

To doodle the sleeves of each hand, use straight lines as shown within the example. You could, of course, leave the arms sleeveless. But the sleeves do make our handshake look more real and realistic.

How to Doodle a Candle

Step 1

Begin your candle doodle by drawing a tree stump shape in the middle of your page. Use an arc shape on the bottom along with two straight vertical lines. This will become the body of your candle.

Step 2

Below the tree stump structure, you just drew, doodle an oval shape. Notice how part of the oval shape is hidden behind the main body of your candle. For the top part of the candle, doodle another arc shape. Above this, doodle a very narrow vertical rectangle.

Step 3

Next, doodle another larger oval around the oval you drew in step 3. Then on the top part of your candle, close the candle with another arc shape and then a water drop shape for the flame. Doodling this water drop shape can take a little practice. Notice how it is round and full on the bottom and pointy at the top. Feel free to practice drawing this shape a few times on a separate sheet of paper before adding it to your candle.

Step 4

Time now to add a few more details to your candle. Let’s start by doodling another oval shape on the bottom. This will become the base of your candle. Then doodle more details to your flame using a cloud shape.

Step 5

Add the finishing touches to your candle using squiggly lines around your flame to show that it is flickering. Use short straight lines on the side of your candle and on the side of the candle stand to show a shadow effect. Then finish things up by giving your candle some needed color.

Step 1

There are plenty of ways to doodle a car. Let’s look at one of these ways here. To begin your car doodle, draw a couple of circles in the middle of your page. Then within those circles draw another smaller circle. Pay particular attention to the spacing between each of the circles within the example.

Let’s now doodle the main body of our car. Cars can, of course, come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Therefore, how you draw the body of the car is really up to you. You can either copy the example above or create your own custom car body design. You could even doodle a convertible for those beautiful summer trips to the bay. 😉

Next, use a curved line for the window of our car. Notice how the window is positioned within the example in relation to the body of our car.

We now have a pretty nice doodle of our car. But you can, of course, add several more details to your car doodle that will make your car look a little more snazzy. 🙂 Use straight and curved lines to add details to the body of the car as shown within the example. You can, of course, add more or less detail. I’ll leave that up to you. 🙂

How to Doodle a Helicopter

Step 1

To doodle a helicopter, begin by drawing what looks like a teardrop. However, whereas a regular teardrop has a point at the top, our helicopter teardrop has its point on the right. This teardrop will now become the cockpit or main body of our helicopter doodle.

Step 2

Next, let’s doodle the landing legs of our helicopter. Drawing our landing legs can be a little tricky. It involves using curved and straight lines. Notice also how these lines are spaced and the length of each line within the example.

Step 3

To doodle the propeller of our helicopter, use curved lines that kind of look like elongated teardrop shapes. Because this is a cartoon helicopter, we won’t draw the propeller to size. We’ll rather make it smaller than it is in real life.

The next step is to doodle the window for the cockpit of our helicopter. Use a curved line for this purpose as shown within the example.

Let’s now add the final touches to our helicopter doodle. First, use slightly curved lines on the body and window of our helicopter to showcase that it has a rounded and reflective surface. You can then add a slight shadow effect on the top and back propellers using straight lines. How to Doodle Eyeglasses

Step 1

The first step to doodling eyeglasses is to begin with two circles. Draw a couple of circles in the middle of your page. Notice how the right circle is a little larger than the left circle. This is done on purpose as the right circle is in closer proximity from our viewing angle.

Step 2

Connect your two circles using a couple of curved lines. These two lines don’t necessarily need to be curved. They also don’t need to be evenly spaced. Therefore, feel free to experiment with this. 🙂

Step 3

Let’s now doodle the two ear hooks that are part of the frame for our eyeglasses. Here let’s use a couple of straight lines. Then at the end use two short and slightly curved lines that will help wrap our glasses around our ears.

Step 4

To highlight that our eyeglasses have lenses, doodle what looks like a game of noughts and crosses on each lens. Use four straight lines on each lens to create this lens-effect.

Step 5

Finally, give your eyeglasses a little bit of color. If you feel creative and inspired, you could make the frame a little thicker and experiment drawing patterns on the frame. This will give your eyeglasses a little more personality. 🙂
