How to Doodle Juggling

Step 1

drawing juggle

How could we visualize JUGGLING in a simple doodle? Let’s begin by drawing an oval in the middle of the page. This will become the head of our cartoon character. And we only really need a head and many a couple of arms.

Step 2

draw juggle

For the facial features of our cartoon character, use a combination of arc-shapes for the eyes, for the eyeballs, and for the mouth. Notice how the eyeballs are pointing outward. This is so to show that our cartoon character is focusing on multiple balls while juggling.

Step 3

doodling juggle

Use curved lines to draw the arms of your cartoon character. Notice the positioning of the arms. Notice also how they are not connected to a body or to the head. This isn’t supposed to be an anatomically correct doodle. It’s rather supposed to be a visual symbol of the act of juggling.

Step 4

doodle juggle

Use four small oval shapes for the juggling balls. Also, draw slightly curved lines between each ball. These lines show the flight path of each ball.

Step 5

how to doodle juggle

Add the finishing touches to your JUGGLING doodle by giving it some color. And there you have it. We now have a visual representation of JUGGLING. But, I’m sure there are other ways to visualize JUGGLING. How many other ways can you think of?

How to Doodle Judge

Step 1

drawing judge

If someone asked you to visualize the word JUDGE or JUDGMENT or JUDGING, what would you draw? How about drawing a judge’s gavel to represent judgment? To begin your doodle, draw a rectangle in the middle of your page. Notice the angle and size of this rectangle.

Step 2

draw judge

Now draw a couple of smaller but elongated rectangles at the end of the rectangle you drew in step 1 above. Notice how both rectangles are the same size and mirror one another. This now becomes the head of our gavel.

Step 3

doodling judge

For the handle of our gavel, draw another elongated rectangle. Notice where the handle meets the head of the gavel in the example above.

Step 4

doodle judge

To draw the base, use two additional elongated rectangle shapes that are stacked one on top of the other. Notice how the top rectangular shape is slightly smaller than the bottom one. Kind of like drawing a step pyramid.

Step 5

how to doodle judge

Finish off your JUDGE doodle by adding a few more details and giving it some color. Notice how I have drawn a couple of lines on the top right side of the gavel. This shows that the gavel is in motion and about to pound down on the base.

How to Doodle a Jewel

Step 1

drawing a jewel

A jewel is one of those tricky things to draw. You look at the finished drawing and it’s hard to know where to begin. Well, there are no fixed rules for this. But I will show you one way to draw a jewel in this example. Begin your jewel doodle by drawing an upside-down triangle in the middle of your page.

Step 2

draw a jewel

Now visualize drawing a large triangle on the outside of the triangle you drew in step 1 above. Notice the size of this triangle and the angles of the lines shown within the example.

Step 3

doodling a jewel

Above these triangles, let’s now draw several smaller triangles. Some of these triangles will be upside-down, while others will be the right way up like a pyramid. Then use a straight line through the top middle to connect the triangles.

Step 4

doodle a jewel

To give our jewel 3-dimensions, draw an arc shape right at the very top as shown within the example.

Step 5

how to doodle a jewel

Add the finishing touches to your jewel doodle by giving it some color. You will notice how three shades of blue have been used here. This is to give us the impression that our jewel has a reflective surface. Subsequently, each side of our jewel is reflecting the light in a different way. And there you have it. This is our jewel doodle. I would, however, like to challenge you to draw your jewel again in a slightly different way. The end result might be exactly the same, but how you got there might be a little different.

Step 1

drawing jazz

If someone asked you to visualize JAZZ, what would you draw? For this example, we will draw a saxophone. To begin your saxophone doodle, draw the shape you see in the example above. Use long curvy lines. Your shape doesn’t necessarily need to look exactly like the shape in the example. It can vary slightly. Saxophones can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. 🙂

Step 2

doodling jazz

Having drawn the body of your saxophone, let’s now doodle the keys. To draw the bell keys, draw three 3-quarter box shapes on the side of the neck of your saxophone.

Step 3

draw jazz

Let’s now add some additional details to our saxophone. At the right end of our saxophone, we have the bow. Draw an elongated curved line here. Then add a short straight line to represent the mouthpiece of our saxophone.

Step 4

doodle jazz

To highlight that the saxophone is playing music, let’s draw some musical notes coming from the bow of our saxophone. The music notes you doodle here are completely up to you. Feel free to follow the example, or create your own.

Step 5

how to doodle jazz

Add the finishing touches to your saxophone doodle by drawing a couple of elongated oval shapes near the bottom of your saxophone. These give us the impression that the saxophone is reflecting light. Then, of course, give your saxophone some color. And there you have it. This now becomes our JAZZ doodle. This is one way to visually represent JAZZ. How many other ways can you think of?

How to Doodle Intimacy

Step 1

drawing intimacy

If someone asked you to visualize INTIMACY, what would you draw? This is a tough one. However, I have an idea we can work with. Let’s doodle it out. To begin with, draw an oval shape on your page. Notice how the oval shape is open on the bottom end. This will become the head of one of your icon characters.

Step 2

draw intimacy

Use an arc shape to draw the other character’s head to the left of the original head you drew in step 1 above. Notice the size and positioning of the head. Both heads are more or less the same size, and the second head is positioned on a 45-degree angle above the first head.

Step 3

doodling intimacy

We have our two heads in place. Now we need to visualize the intimacy between these two characters. To do this, use long arc shapes for the arms. Notice how the arms of our second character are wrapping around the shoulders of our first character.

Step 4

doodle intimacy

Let’s now doodle the arms and legs of our first character. We want to show that they are wrapping around our second character. Again, use elongated arc shapes for this purpose as shown within the example.

Step 5

how to doodle intimacy

To show that this is an intimate moment, let’s draw a couple of hearts around the two characters. Once our hearts are in place, give your doodle some color. And there you have it. This is our visual representation of INTIMACY. But, this is, of course, just one way to visualize intimacy. Can you think of any other ways to doodle this?

drawing injection

If someone asked you to visualize what an injection would look like, what would you draw? How about drawing a needle? To begin your doodle, draw a three-sided rectangle in the middle of your page. Notice the angle of this rectangle. Also, notice how the top of the rectangle has been left open.

Step 2

draw injection

Let’s now fill the top of the rectangle with a very slim and flat rectangle. Notice that the slim rectangle is slightly wider than the large rectangle.

Step 3

doodling injection

To draw the pointy end of our needle, use a v-shape combined with a straight line. Two simple shapes that help us get the message across that this is the pointy end of our doodle. 😉

Step 4

doodle injection

For the other side of your needle, use a couple more rectangle shapes as shown within the example. This is the injecting end of our needle.

Step 5

how to doodle injection

Add the finishing touches to your needle by drawing several lines along the inside of the original rectangle you drew in step 1. These are our measuring lines. Then give your doodle some color. And there you have it. This is our injection doodle. You could, of course, spice up this doodle by showing the injection being inserted into a body part. Or, there could be other ways to represent and injection in a visual way. How many other ways can you think of?
