How to Doodle Cold Temperature

Step 1

How would we represent the idea of it being COLD in the form of a doodle? Well, let’s start by drawing a thermometer in the middle of our page. You know the kind of thermometer with the round bottom bit and the tall pillar as its top bit.

To represent the idea that it’s cold, let’s draw an arrow within the thermometer. Let’s point the arrow down to indicate that the temperature has fallen.

Let’s now give our thermometer a little more detail. Use straight lines for this purpose. Notice the lines next to the arrow that show various ranges in temperature. Also, notice the angles of the lines in the lower bubble portion area. This is to indicate that the temperature is very low at the moment.

Let’s now add a snowflake next to our thermometer. Use circles and lines to draw your snowflake. The snowflake doodle is another sign that the temperature is very cold.

How to Doodle a Cow Head

Step 1

To doodle a cow head, begin by drawing an elongated oval near the bottom of your page. Then inside this oval, draw two circle shapes that will become the nostrils of your cow’s nose. Then under this doodle an arc shape connecting to the nose area.

Step 2

Draw another larger elongated oval for the cow’s head. Notice in the example how this oval shape is partially hidden behind the nose area.

Step 3

To draw the ears and horns of your cow, use arc shapes. Notice the positioning of the ears and horns. Also, notice the length of each line and the angles used within the example.

To doodle the eyes of your cow use oval shapes. First, draw two larger oval shapes side-by-side. Then inside those oval shapes, draw two smaller circles that will become the pupils of the eyes.

How to Doodle a Tooth Cavity

Step 1

How could we represent a tooth cavity using a simple doodle? Begin by drawing a couple of z-shapes near the top of your page. Notice how the z-shapes come together at the bottom in what looks like a lightning doodle.

Step 2

Now, let’s doodle the tooth. To doodle your tooth use curved lines. Notice the curvature of the lines and their shape. Notice also how a gap has been left in the cavity area of our drawing.

Step 3

Let’s not give our tooth doodle some personality by drawing some eyes. Use arc shapes to draw the eyes as shown in the example. Notice how the eyes are looking up at the cavity area of the tooth.

Use another couple of arc shapes to represent the nose and an upsidedown arc shape for the sad face. Our tooth is sad because it has a cavity and it hurts. 🙁

How to Doodle a Campfire

Step 1

To doodle a campfire, begin by drawing an elongated rectangle in the middle of your page. This rectangle will represent one piece of wood that is part of our campfire.

Step 2

To draw the second piece of wood, doodle another elongated rectangle. Notice how this second rectangle is partially hidden behind the first rectangle. You are, therefore, essentially drawing two rectangles that cross behind the original rectangle you drew in step 1.

To doodle the flame of our fire use long arc shapes. Notice how there are two pointy ends on the fire. One is a little higher and the left side is a little lower. This can be tricky to draw. You might want to practice a little.

Let’s now mirror our larger flame with a smaller flame in the middle. Use exactly the same doodling technique to draw this smaller flame. Notice how the angles of the smaller flame mirror the larger flame.

Step 1

How could we represent the act of “buying” something in a simple doodle? Well, there are quite a few ways we could do this. Let’s take a look at an example by drawing a thumb. Looks like an elongated c-shape connected to an arc shape.

Next, doodle a rectangle on your page. Notice how the rectangle is partially hidden behind the thumb shape we drew in step 1. Notice also the size of this rectangle in comparison to the thumb shape.

Let’s now give our thumb shape some context by drawing the rest of the hand and shirt collar. Use straight and curved lines for this purpose. See the example and follow along. Notice the curvature, length, and spacing of the lines.

Doodling the flames on our three candles can be a little tricky. Notice in the example the curvature and angles of the lines. Also, don’t forget to doodle some lines for the frosting on top of the cake. Use v-shaped lines for this purpose.

Step 1

To doodle a bee, begin by drawing the main body of the bee. Use an arc and v-shape for this purpose. The upper part of the body uses an arc shape, while the lower part of the body uses a v-shape.

To doodle the head of your bee, use an oval shape. Notice the positioning of the head and the size and proportion when compared to the body we drew in step 1.

To doodle a mug of beer, begin by drawing 3-quarters of an upright rectangle with its top missing. Notice how the two corners of the rectangle are rounded. Also, notice the length of each line.

To doodle the froth sitting on top of the beer mug, draw a cloud shape. Notice how the cloud shape extends inside and outside the rectangle you drew in step 1. Make sure the cloud shape also extends outwards on the sides of your beer mug.

Step 1

Let’s support our baby’s head with a small pillow at the back of its head. Doodle another arc shape for this pillow. Notice where the arc shape begins and ends and how it is connected to the blanket. Also, notice the spacing between this arc shape and our baby’s head.

Let’s now show that our baby is sleeping. To do this, use small arc shapes for the eyes, and deeper arc shape for the nose, a couple more arc shapes for the ears, and a squiggly line for the hair.

Step 1

To doodle an astronaut, let’s begin by drawing the helmet. Begin by doodling an oval shape for the outside of the helmet. Then, on the inside of the helmet, draw a straight line connecting to an arc shape.

For the neck area of the helmet, use a couple of straight lines and a curved line. Notice the angles of these lines and how they are connected to the top part of the helmet.

For the body of our astronaut doodle, use a couple of curved lines. Then connect those curved lines using a straight line. Notice in the example how far the curved lines extend from the neck area.
