How to Doodle an Umbrella
Step 1
On the surface, drawing an umbrella seems relatively straightforward. Let’s, however, go the extra mile within this doodle to put our umbrella into proper context. Begin your umbrella doodle using a combination of four arc shapes. One large arc shape for the top surface area of the umbrella, and three small arc shapes for each wing of the umbrella.
Step 2
Use a curved line to draw the handle of your umbrella. Then add a few more details to the top fo the umbrella using lines and an oval shape. We now have a very straightforward and simple drawing of an umbrella. But let’s give our doodle some context.
Step 3
Let’s draw a raincloud above our umbrella. Use a straight line for the bottom of the cloud, then several arc shapes for the top area of the cloud. You can either copy the example or create something that looks similar. No need for it to look exactly as you see above.
Step 4
To signify that this is a raincloud and that we are in the middle of a rain shower, let’s doodle droplets of rain falling down from our raincloud onto the umbrella. Use arc shapes that meet at a pointed tip as you draw each raindrop.
Step 5
Add the finishing touches to your doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our visual representation of an umbrella within the context of a rain shower. How many other ways can you think of to draw an umbrella?
