How to Doodle a Pirate
Step 1
To doodle your pirate, let’s begin with the head. Use a combination of arc shapes to draw the head and the pirate’s bandana. Notice how the bandana is slightly wider than the head within the example.
Step 2
Use a combination of oval shapes, straight lines and arc shapes to draw the pirate’s left eye and the eye patch on his right eye. If you like to challenge yourself a little, then try doodling the patch on the right eye.
Step 3
Use a combination of straight lines, oval shapes and curved lines to draw the pirates nostrils, mouth, tongue and teeth. There are, of course, many different ways to draw facial features. With that in mind, feel free to experiment with this a little. Experiment with various facial expressions for your pirate.
Step 4
Let’s now draw a few additional features on our pirate. Use arc shapes for the ears and earrings. Then let’s also draw the back of the bandana. Use an arc shape and several curved lines to show that the bandana is tied behind the pirate’s head.
Step 5
Add the finishing touches to your doodle by adding a few character texture lines on the face and on the bandana. The, of course, give your doodle some color. And there we have it. This is our simple doodle of a pirate that you can now use in your visual notes. How could you potentially modify this doodle to draw the pirate a little differently?
