How to Doodle a Machine
Step 1
If someone asked you to visualize a MACHINE, what would you draw? How about a cog in a wheel to represent the idea of a MACHINE and its moving parts? To begin with, doodle two ovals on your page. Notice how one oval shape is higher and the other is lower.
Step 2
Now doodle another couple of oval shapes around the outside of your original two oval shapes. Notice the size of these larger oval shapes. Notice also the distance between the two large oval shapes. This will become important in the next step.
Step 3
Now we need to interconnect the two wheels to help them work together in unison. Draw rectangular shapes around both wheels. Notice how between the two wheels the rectangular shapes fit into the gaps.
Step 4
To highlight that this is a MACHINE we are drawing, doodle a spanner. Use a combination of arc shapes and straight lines to draw your spanner.
Step 5
Add the finishing touches to your MACHINE doodle by giving it some color. And there we have it. This is our representation of a MACHINE. Can you think of any other visual representations of a machine?
