How to Doodle a Goal

Step 1

drawing a goal

If someone asked you to draw a GOAL, how would you visualize it on a page? What exactly would you draw? How about a mountain with a flag on top that represents our goal? Begin by drawing a straight line on the bottom of your page. This line will represent the ground and the bottom of our mountain. Next, doodle the mountain. Use a wavy and rounded triangle shape to draw your mountain. Your mountain doesn’t necessarily need to look like the example above. Feel free to play around with the shape if you wish.

Step 2

draw a goal

To draw the flag on top of our mountain, use a straight line and a side triangle shape. Notice that the lines of this triangle shape are curved rather than straight. This gives us the impression that the flag is waving in the wind. This flag will represent our goal, while the mountain represents the journey and challenges that come with goal achievement.

Step 3

Let’s now show our path toward our goal. To visualize this path, draw an arrow that extends from the bottom of your mountain right up to the top where the flag is. This arrow shows the path we took to accomplish this goal.

Step 4

doodle a goal

Let’s now add a few more details to our GOAL doodle. To make our flag look more like a goal, let’s add a few straight lines extending out from the flag. This helps us highlight the goal. It makes the goal seem more important. Then add some additional straight lines on the side of the mountain to give it some texture and shading.

Add the finishing touches to your GOAL doodle by adding some color. Feel free to experiment with the colors. This is, of course, only one way to visualize the idea of a GOAL. How many other ways can you think of to draw a goal?
