How to Doodle a Fist
Step 1
Begin your fist doodle by drawing an arc shape that turns back on itself as shown within the example. Notice the curvature of your line. This shape you just created will become the thumb of your fist doodle.
Step 2
To draw the knuckles of your fist doodle, draw four interconnected arc shapes moving from the top-down as shown within the example. Notice the spacing between the knuckles and the thumb. Also, notice the size of each knuckle compared to the thumb.
Step 3
To doodle the fingers, use a combination of straight lines and arc shapes. Notice the thickness and length of each finger. We are trying to make our fist doodle look realistic, but it certainly doesn’t need to be perfect. 🙂
Step 4
To doodle the hand and arm, use straight and slightly curved lines. Notice how part of the forearm is hidden behind the shirtsleeve. You can either doodle the forearm first or the shirtsleeve. It doesn’t really make a difference.
Step 5
Add some final details to your fist doodle. First, doodle the fingernails. Use a combination of relatively flat and curved arc shapes. Notice how some fingernails are hidden behind the thumb. When done, add some more details to the hands using straight lines. This will add a bit of texture to the hand. And, finally, give you hand and the shirtsleeve some needed color. 🙂
