How to Doodle an Election

How to Draw an Election (drawing tips)

Step 1

drawing an election

If someone asked you to doodle an ELECTION, what would you draw? How about a ballot box. To begin your election ballot box doodle, draw an upright rectangle in the middle of your page.

Step 2

Now, below this rectangle, doodle a slim vertical rectangle. Notice how the rectangle we drew in step 1 overlaps our second rectangle. Therefore, this second rectangle is partially hidden behind our first rectangle drawing.

Step 3

Let’s now create a border around our two rectangles. Use five lines to draw this border. Notice how this border surrounds the two rectangles on the bottom, left, and right, but goes behind the upright rectangle on the topside. Notice also the angles of the lines. This will become the top of your ballot box.

Step 4

To doodle the front of your ballot box, use three straight lines. One horizontal line and two vertical lines connecting to the topside of your ballot box.

Add the finishing touches to your election doodle by drawing a tick and by adding a little text to give the doodle some context. Then color your ballot box and add some shading to the slot where we place our ballot. And now you have your election doodle.
