How to Doodle a Bookshelf
Step 1
Begin by doodling an upright rectangle in the middle of the page. Next, doodle a slightly larger rectangle around the edges of the original rectangle. Be sure to keep spacing consistent between the two rectangles.
Step 2
Next, doodle the shelving area and draws. Use straight lines for this purpose paying particular attention to keep the lines straight and the spacing between each line consistent. You can, of course, be creative here and create variations of the shelving area. Finish up by adding two small upright rectangles on the base of the bookshelf. These rectangles will represent the legs of the bookshelf.
Step 3
Time now to add some items to your bookshelf. Again, use your imagination here by doodling various books and other items that you might typically find on a bookshelf. To doodle books use straight lines. No need to complicate them by adding a third dimension. Just keep it simple and straightforward. Also, don’t forget to use lines and circles that represent the handles of each draw.
Step 4
Add a third dimension to your bookshelf by doodling the top and side panels of the bookshelf. Use straight lines and try keeping consistent angles. Also, don’t forget to include shaded areas using straight lines.
Step 5
The final step is to add some color to your bookshelf. Use either complementary colors or different shades of the same color. Color will give your doodle personality and character.
